What is Chez Renee? 

First, Chez Renee is a labor of love!  Pure and simple.  I've always believed your environment feeds your energy.  This shop is a haven for all of the things I find beautiful, unique, inspiring and comforting to have in a home.   We search for objects that speak your language, are comforting when you walk through the door, and take you back to a different place and time.  

We're an online boutique filled with vintage items as well as reproductions.  Styles range from American primitive to rural European antique, to shiny and retro modern.    There are also a few Industrial style pieces.  You’ll find lots of things to make the table decoration for your supper party fun, or a fantastic 3- tier basket for the fruit and vegetables on your countertop, or maybe a themed book of matches as a favor for your wedding reception.   

We strive to provide you with a keenly edited, always fresh, selection of goods. We understand your ambition to create a personal statement—to turn a house into your home.

We, pourquoi ?  Renee + Connie. She’s my mom.  I can both blame her and thank her for my appreciation of found objects.  If it’s rusted, chipped, dented, painted a  gazillion times, covered in dust, and sitting in a corner that has not seen light in years, then thanks to her,  I love it! 

 Yes, Connie is the reason my ears perk up when someone mentions a junk store, and she’s the reason this shop has things like a one-of-a-kind Ukranian enamel bath tub for sale.  She’s also the reason I have ‘collections’ stored in my garage from my teens, that I never knew I wanted or ‘needed’.  Apparently, I did need them, and to this day a butterpat plate serves as a soap holder in my guest bath, and a Japanese Majelica jar holds matchbooks to light my candles.  She has a sharp eye for spotting trends in the home décor and antique world.   I can only hope the little one pictured below will love this stuff as much as we do.  (How else will I be able to keep shopping?!)
